Go-to-Market Strategy
Last updated: March 2026 Status: Early launch, 3 Stripe subscriptions (1 customer + 2 founder tests)
Strategic Thesis
ChurchWiseAI wins by owning distribution (PewSearch's 218K+ listings), building the only voice+chat agentic product for churches, and expanding the WiseAI engine to adjacent verticals once the church model is proven.
Distribution Channels (Priority Order)
1. PewSearch Funnel (Primary -- Zero Acquisition Cost)
PewSearch is our owned distribution channel with 218K+ church listings across the US and Canada. The conversion model works in four layers:
- Discovery -- Church finds its existing listing via Google search, email outreach, or referral
- Premium Page ($4.95/mo) -- First revenue touchpoint. Enhanced listing with photos, hours, staff
- AI Cross-Sell -- Premium subscribers see contextual upsells to Voice/Chat products
- "Powered by" Flywheel -- Every deployed chatbot widget has a "Powered by ChurchWiseAI" badge (removable on Suite tier), creating backlinks and organic discovery
The product ladder: Premium Page ($4.95) -> Chat Starter ($14.95) -> Voice Starter ($39.95) -> Starter Bundle ($49.95) -> Pro Bundle ($79.95) -> Suite Bundle ($99.95).
2. Direct / Organic (Secondary -- Compounding Asset)
Every published page builds permanent search equity. Key page types:
- Denomination landing pages (
/ai-for/[denomination]) -- 17 pages targeting "[denomination] AI tools" - Competitor comparison pages (
/compare/[slug]) -- Honest "where we win, where they win" format - Integration pages (
/integrations/[slug]) -- "Planning Center AI," "Breeze church chatbot" - Blog -- 2-4 posts/month targeting church technology pain points
- Product pages (
/voice,/chatbot) -- Direct conversion for high-intent visitors
Paid ads amplify what organic proves. Start at $500-1,000/mo on Google Ads for high-intent keywords ("church answering service," "church chatbot"). Pause any campaign above $150 CPA.
3. Referral (Tertiary by Volume, Highest by Conversion)
Pastor-to-pastor recommendation is the most trusted channel in church world. Denominational networks are tight-knit -- one happy customer in a Baptist association can yield 3-7 referrals.
Referral triggers: Day 30 milestone, 100-conversation milestone, monthly report emails.
4. Church Conferences
In-person demos at 3-5 major church technology events per year. The live demo sells itself when pastors see the AI respond with genuine empathy. 5-minute booth pitch compressed from the 15-minute sales narrative.
Marketing Philosophy
We don't sell features. We sell moments.
Every piece of marketing starts with a moment a pastor recognizes: "What happens when a grieving widow visits your website at midnight?" Pastors don't buy "33 AI tools." They buy the answer to "Can it check on Sarah after her surgery?"
Core framing: "AI should never pastor. It should free the pastor to pastor."
Audience-Specific Messaging
| Audience | Message |
|---|---|
| Senior Pastors | "Focus on pastoring. Let AI handle the logistics." |
| Church Admins | "Never miss a call, a visitor, or a prayer request again." |
| AI Skeptics | "AI should never pastor. It should free the pastor to pastor." |
| Budget-Conscious | "Less than $1/day. One visitor who becomes a member pays for 40 years." |
| Small Churches | "You don't need a staff of 10. You need a team that never sleeps." |

Vertical Expansion Strategy
The WiseAI Platform is designed for multi-vertical deployment. Same engine, new brand for each industry.
| Priority | Vertical | Domain | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | Funeral Homes | funeralwiseai.com / MemorialWiseAI | Same emotional care model, similar after-hours needs |
| #2 | Auto Repair | ShopWiseAI | High call volume, appointment booking, estimates |
| #3 | Veterinary | veterinarywiseai.com / VetWiseAI | After-hours emergencies, appointment scheduling |
| #4 | Small Law Firms | LegalWiseAI | Intake calls, appointment booking, FAQ handling |
Each vertical is created by forking churchwiseai-web/, swapping brand.ts and pricing.ts, and building industry-specific agent tools and prompts. The core platform (auth, dashboard, Stripe, moderation, RAG) is shared.
Key decision: Prove the church model first (Year 1). First vertical expansion (MemorialWiseAI) targets Year 2. Do not dilute focus prematurely.
Upsell & Expansion Revenue
Usage-based upgrade triggers fire when churches hit measurable thresholds:
- Conversation limits (80% of cap -> nudge to next tier)
- Tool gating (attempt to use Pro-only tool -> upgrade prompt)
- Team growth (3+ team members -> Suite RBAC pitch)
- FAQ/document limits reached
- Cross-channel gaps (chat-only church missing calls -> voice bundle pitch)
Three-step escalation: in-dashboard banner (Day 0) -> email (Day 7) -> personal founder email (Day 14). 30-day cooldown per trigger.
